Entry/Exit System
In autumn 2024, the Entry/Exit System (EES) will be introduced to digitally record the movement of persons from third countries across the external border of the Schengen area. Data registration will be carried out at the first entry/exit, which may take longer. UK nationals covered by the Withdrawal Agreement will be exempt from the EES registration requirement provided they have a biometric residence card – if they still do not have one, they should apply for one as soon as possible!
